Buzz Mouse – a signal made for the D26 generation

Marketing Mix is held every year to help new students get to know their new environment, meet their first friends and discover what makes Marketing exciting. This year’s theme, Buzz Mouse, was inspired by a small mouse with sharp ears tuned to every trend and a headphone-and-microphone set always ready to connect and speak up. The mascot symbolizes the potential to create big viral impact – the very spirit of a marketer – and serves as a special message to the new generation of students born in 2008.

Ahead of the event, the Organizing Committee launched a Marketing Mix 2026: Buzz Mouse profile-frame campaign, which drew enthusiastic participation from D26 freshmen eager to “check in” for their new journey.

Hearing from the freshmen

One of the most memorable moments was a speech by Tran Thi Lan Phuong, the top-scoring entrant of the D26 Public Relations program, on behalf of all freshmen. Lan Phuong expressed her pride in joining PTIT, thanked her family and teachers for their support along the way, and conveyed sincere gratitude to the Institute’s leadership and lecturers for giving new students the best possible foundation for their future.

Understanding the initial nervousness of newcomers, the Organizing Committee hoped Marketing Mix 2026 would be a meaningful gift and a first stop to recharge the D26 “little mice” with confidence as they begin their new semester.

Ms. Yen introduces the programme to freshmen

Marketing Mix 2026 was not only a welcome celebration but also an opportunity for D26 freshmen to better understand the programme they are about to begin. On stage, Ms. Yen introduced the key features of the PTIT Marketing programme, giving new students an early compass for their studies from the very first semester.

She explained why students choose the high-quality Marketing programme: more study and work in English; studying at a leading technology university with strong expertise in Digital Marketing; lecturers recognized for their expertise and teaching skills; modern facilities; partnerships with many domestic and international technology companies; and international reference materials and academic partnerships with reputable universities from the UK and Australia.

Freshmen were also introduced to the programme’s Outcome-Based Education (OBE) approach: the curriculum is built on stakeholder needs, designed “backwards” from learning outcomes, uses aligned teaching and assessment methods, and offers rich experiential learning through case studies, group-based projects and capstone projects.

To close her talk, she presented the seven Programme Learning Outcomes (PLOs) students will work towards: foundational knowledge of economics, management and marketing; the use of digital tools and technologies; critical, systems and creative thinking; adaptability; communication; teamwork; and the ability to make professional judgements grounded in ethics and professional responsibility in the digital environment.

Connecting, playing and first experiences

Beyond the stage performances, the event featured a check-in area, a partner booth and plenty of games and networking activities that helped freshmen get to know each other and their senior schoolmates.

Thank you to the people behind the stage

A successful event is the result of long preparation – countless meetings, rehearsals and quiet efforts from the Organizing Committee. Not everyone appeared on stage, but every member was an essential piece, working together to solve problems and keep the energy high until the very end to create a truly special welcome day.
